About Anderson's Country Market II
Our Story: A New Chapter with Deep Roots
In August 2022, we embraced an exciting opportunity by purchasing Anderson's Country Market (ACM II), determined to continue the legacy of its previous owners. For us, this wasn’t just a business decision; it was a chance to provide for our family while staying actively involved in the community we love.
Faith, Family, and Community at the Core
From day one, our mission has been clear: to spread the love of Jesus, honor the service of first responders and veterans, and lead by example for our children. We want to show them that with faith, determination, and hard work, anything is possible.
Incorporating Our Passions
ACM II reflects who we are as a family. We’ve grown the garden center to include vibrant perennials and shrubs, offering our customers even more beauty for their homes. Our love for auctions has also found a place here, allowing us to support local communities while sourcing fresh, seasonal produce.

Collaborating for Success
Running a small business is both challenging and rewarding, which is why we are passionate about collaborating with other area businesses. Together, we’re creating opportunities for everyone to thrive while building a stronger local economy.
Honoring the Past, Building the Future
At ACM II, we believe that the past and present lay the foundation for a brighter future. As we grow and adapt, we remain deeply grateful for the history that brought us here and the community that supports us.
A Place for Everyone
More than just a store, ACM II is a place where people feel connected. We listen to the needs of our community and strive to be a hub where supporting local businesses is celebrated. Guided by faith, we’re committed to the path God has in store for us and to making ACM II a space where everyone feels welcome.
The Humble Beginnings
In April 2008, John and Evangeline Anderson, along with their family, founded Anderson's Country Market Inc. in a 15,000-square-foot building in Madison Heights. What started as an overstock and surplus store was driven by two simple goals: to provide affordable groceries to the community and to share the love of Jesus.
Expanding the Vision
As the store grew, so did its offerings. What began as a simple overstock and surplus store soon included Amish-style bulk foods and a deli. Customers loved the enhancements, which led to the addition of fresh produce, plants, and even an in-house bakery.
By 2010, the community’s enthusiasm for Anderson's Country Market inspired the Andersons to open a second location on Old Forest Road in Lynchburg. This new store specialized in bulk foods and deli offerings, quickly becoming a local favorite.
A New Chapter
In 2011, both original locations were closed as the Andersons set their sights on something bigger. They purchased a new property at 3748 S Amherst Highway, which became the market’s permanent home. By March of that year, the new store opened its doors with a renewed focus on providing the community with Amish-style foods, bakery, deli meats and cheese, fresh sandwiches, organic food, locally made items, and plants.
A Legacy of Community and Quality
Anderson's Country Market became more than a store—it became a beloved part of the community, cherished for its unique products, friendly service, and commitment to faith and family.
